The most gentle method of cleaning wood
- dry ice blasting
Are you annoyed by faded beams, old paint, mold or dirt that spoil the appearance of your cottage?
How does dry ice cleaning work?
Dry ice is a solid form of carbon dioxide (CO₂) with a temperature of -79°C. Special pellets of dry ice are fired at the surface under high pressure. Upon impact, they instantly turn into a gas.
Thermal effect
Due to different thermal expansion, microcracks form on the surface of the dirt.

Sublimation
The microparticles of the pellets penetrate into microcracks at high speed and freeze the surface of the dirt.

Kinetic effect
The dry ice particles that have penetrated the cracks now sublime and their volume increases 700x to 1000x, removing the dirt from the surface.
